There is a saying that the only thing that is constant is change. The same is true at The Shaggy Sheep.

Here are some changes that you will find at The Shaggy Sheep as of January 1st:

Change! Open Knitting-The time of the morning session will be changed to 10:00-12:00. The evening session will be cancelled. This will allow more time for classes.

New! Charity Knitting-One Thursday evening each month will be devoted for working on a project for a local charity. Our first project will be to make a chair for the Chairs for Charity. We will meet for the first time on January 28th. If you have any 100% wool scraps, bring them along! We will be making felted vines, leaves, and flowers. Please bring along double points Sizes 8-11. If anyone has an old chair (kitchen) that you are willing to donate, please let me know. We can discuss other charity projects as we go. I hope you can join us.

New! Chemo Cap Challenge-From now until March 31st, the Shaggy Sheep is challenging knitters and crocheters to make and donate chemo caps for cancer patients at Holy Family. Make them sophisticated, funky, feminine, or masculine. Make them any way you want, just make them adult sized. For each cap that you turn in to The Shaggy Sheep, your name will be entered into a drawing for a $15.00 gift certificate from The Shaggy Sheep. Three gift certificates will be awarded.

New! Field Trip-During April we will be taking a tour of the Hidden Valley Woolen Mill. If there is interest, we will also have lunch together. This is being planned as a family event. If you have questions, or are interested in attending please call (682-3152) or email (theshaggysheep@sbcglobal.net) The Shaggy Sheep. Having an idea of how many people are interested in attending will greatly help with the planning. I will send more information to those interested as the plans become finalized.

New! Knitting Guild-There will be an organizational planning meeting on January 21st at 10:00 a.m. We will be meeting in the back room of The Shaggy Sheep. Bring your ideas for starting a knitting guild in Manitowoc. Please either call (682-3152) or email (theshaggysheep@sbcglobal.net) if you are planning on attending.

New! The Shaggy Sheep Bargain Bin- Need yarn for a small project? The bargain bin has “odd ball” skeins at 50% off. Perfect for trying patterns from The One Skein Wonder books. (The Shaggy Sheep Bargain Bin will be “unveiled” at the Anniversary Sale on February 13th).

New! A New Policy-The Shaggy Sheep will try to help solve problems with patterns or correct mistakes as much as possible, but starting January 1st, if the yarn or pattern are not purchased at The Shaggy Sheep, there will be a $3.00 charge.

Reminder! Winter Weather-If the Manitowoc Public Schools close due to bad weather, The Shaggy Sheep will also be closed. If the shop is closed, I will always change the message on my voice mail. Please call ahead before coming.
