January 21st (Thursday)- Knitting Guild Organizational Meeting 10:00 a.m.
New! January 23rd (Saturday) Needle Felted Flower Brooch – Felting 101 (taught by Terri Nichols)
Create a flower brooch to adorn your winter coat, hat, or felted purse while learning basic needle felting techniques. Finished flower is approximately 4” in diameter. Discover the fun of working with wool roving, and needle felting techniques. Cost: $25.00 (includes class, roving, felting needles, and foam block.
January 27th & February 3rd (Wednesdays) Knit Fix

This will probably be the only class that you will take with the purpose of learning to take knitting apart. We will learn to fix horizontal and vertical mistakes, do some “tinking” (knit spelled backwards), deciding when to “frog” (rip it, rip it). Class is free with the purchase of the book Knit Fix ($20.95) from The Shaggy Sheep.
January 28th (Thursday) Charity Knitting 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Please bring scrap of 100% feltable wool and needles Sizes 8-11.
January 30th (Saturday) All Day Open Knitting/Crocheting 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
We will again be doing pot luck for lunch. This time the theme will be Soup Samplers. You will need to sign up for this open knitting/crocheting and choose your dish to pass.
February 11th & 18th (Thursdays) Men’s or Boys’ Felted Hat

Make a warm felted ear flap hat with a visor for your favorite man or boy. The pattern comes in three children’s sizes and three men’s sizes.

February 19th & 26th (Fridays) Two-at-a-time Toe-up Socks 10:00 a.m.-11:30a.m.

In this class you will learn Judy’s Magic Cast-On for toe-up sock construction. You will also learn the short row technique for making heels. The sock is knit on 2 circular knitting needles, enabling you to make two socks at one time. Cost: $22.00 plus materials (2 skeins Lamb’s Pride Superwash, two 16” circular needles Size 3 or 4)
February 25th & March 4th (Thursday) Beginning Lace Knitting 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.or 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Learn the basics of lace knitting. The first class will take a look at the basics of lace knitting. The second class will be devoted to getting you going on your first lace project.

New! February 27th (Saturday) Felted Knitting Needle Case or Bag with Needle Felted Embellishment (taught by Terri Nichols) 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Create a felted knitting needle case or bag with needle felted embellishment. Finished size is approximately 12” wide by 15” long. Create a design needle felted to the front of the needle case or bag. Enjoy the freedom of working with roving, needle felting and other embellishments. March 2nd & 9th (Tuesdays) Broomstick Lace Scarf

We will be discussing the color wheel and taking a look at colors. What color is your personality? Which color is most unappetizing? Come and find out

April ??? Field Trip to Hidden Valley Woolen Mills/ Lunch
Tour the Hidden Valley Woolen Mill and see how wool is made into yarn. We will also see the baby lambs. After the tour we will have lunch (if there is enough interest). Knowing about how many people would like to attend will greatly help with the planning. I will send more details to those interested.
